Gary Warden Mini-Biography (2006)
Born on September 23, 1967, and the youngest of three sons and father to Collette and Duncan, Gary Warden has been a professional actor since he was seventeen. Growing up in Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky, Gary won a four-year university drama scholarship and “cut his acting and directing teeth” under the direction of award-winning playwright and mentor Ken Jones. Nominated twice for the prestigious Irene Ryan Actor award, Gary graduated with a multiple BFA in Drama, Stage Direction, with Fight Choreography from Northern Kentucky University. “Give me thirty seconds or thirty minutes – whatever…my job is to affect emotion, be it drama, comedy, or improvisation.” says Warden. From the slapstick comedy of Lone Star to Shakespeare’s King Lear, Gary has become well-renowned as a highly adaptive lead and ensemble actor.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gary’s career has spanned countless roles in various media. His theater credits include roles with Tony-Award Winning Artistic Director Edward Stern (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park), Cincinnati’s award-winning Women's Theatre Initiative as Bunce in One Flea Spare, supporting actor to Mark Lenard in the world-premier of The Beast, and a repeating role as Daddy Warbucks in The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati’s version of Annie. His national film credits include movie roles in Don’t Tell (with Alison Eastwood) and Artworks (with Virginia Madsen). National and regional commercial credits include: Procter & Gamble’s Fabreeze, 84 Lumber, Chevy Trucks, Swiffer and Carpet Flick, Time Warner Cable, The Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, Subway, Skyline Chili, The Indianapolis Colts, Scope, Sofa Express, Donato’s Pizza, Bigg’s, Giant Eagle SuperMarkets, The West Virginia Lottery, and Penn Telecomm. Trade film credits include: Hewlett-Packard, Radisson Hotels, and Lexmark International.
